Reading Resources for Students & Staff
The Nest has a variety of reading resources that can be viewed or accessed through Classlink in the eLibrary folder. Some of our most-used tools are Destiny, SORA, and MackinVIA.
Destiny is basically a search engine that shows all of the library materials that we have to offer, both in the physical library and online.
Use the app by logging in to Classlink, finding the eLibrary folder, and clicking on the Follett Destiny icon. Then, you can search for specific titles of books, topics you'd like to read about, or genres -- like historical fiction, sports, fantasy, etc.-- that you want to explore.
If we have the book, you'll also be able to see whether it's currently available or checked out, and if it is checked out at the moment, you can place a hold on it so that when it's returned, you're next in line to receive it!
SORA is an online reading platform that allows you to read from anywhere you have access to a device!
Log in to Classlink and find the app in the eLibrary folder. Then, use your school account, search for our school name, and log in to get reading or listening!
SORA has audiobooks and eBooks that you can listen to or read from your school laptop, but it's also an app for your phone or other handheld devices. If you have a phone or tablet and you download the app, you're able to read or listen on the go even without your school computer in hand!
MackinVIA has a bundle of digital resources available for our HBMS students, such as research databases like GALILEO and Gale in Context and eBooks that can be read on any device.
Simply log in to Classlink, find MackinVIA in your eLibrary folder, and use the search bar at the top right to find the resource you need.
