Student Laptop Distribution - Rules and Care

We have completed student laptop distribution for this school year. All students will need an FCS device for testing and Classwize. Device receipt cannot be waived. With a device comes responsibility. There will be stricter enforcement of laptop care expectations and fines will be assessed for lost or damaged devices.

Care and Use Expectations:

• Students are being provided with a protective case to minimize accidental damage. Laptops must remain inside the case.
• Accidents are not excuses. Careless handling or leaving the device in unsafe places does not exempt students from responsibility.
• DO NOT let other students, friends, or siblings “borrow" your device or charger.
• Devices are monitored and could be shut down. Misuse will lead to discipline consequences.
• No VPNs (Virtual Private Network) - device will be flagged and account locked.
• Charge your laptop every night; bring your charger to school just in case it is needed.

WHAT ARE THE FINES?

$30 for a lost or damaged accessory (Power Cable/Cases)

Lost charger - $30

Damaged charger - $30

Lost accessory - $30

Lost case cover - $30

 

$100 for a damaged device

Screen damaged - $100

Keyboard damaged - $100

Charger port damaged - $100

Hinge damaged - $100

Damaged device other - $100

 

$250 for a lost/stolen device

Stolen device - $250

Lost device - $250
